Revlon may be stepping back in time with a retro collection in honor of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but the iconic beauty brand has more than one reason to revisit the past.
The brand announced today that, according to its own accounting, it sells one of its fan-favorite Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in the U.S. every five seconds. The pencil liner won an Allure Best of Beauty Award back in 2003, and its been winning over beauty lovers for years both before and since.
The liner comes in eight shades: Black, Brown, Black Brown (yes, you need all three), Black Violet, Charcoal, Jade, Sapphire and Teal. It’s a twist-up pencil with a built-in sharpener, which makes it quite practical, as American shoppers apparently already know.
“The creamy, waterproof formula sets in seconds, lasts for hours, and never needs to be sharpened,” reads an early Allure review. We raved about it again in 2007. “The pencil is thin enough to deliver a crisp, clean line but soft enough to smudge until smoky. The shade gives great intensity without overwhelming fair skin.”
