I Just Know This Pretty Dress Trend Is Going to Dominate Autumn

Be gone all of you who think an Indian summer is something to be celebrated. All this means to me is a prolonged period of time when I’ll be feeling too warm, AKA sweaty, in the office and commute. Not chic. Look, I don’t hate summer but I don’t want to be faffing about wearing all my warm weather clothes anymore. Come September, all I’m thinking about is which blazer goes with which pair of jeans. But alas, the weather has other ideas and insists that a temperate of 23 degrees or more is totally acceptable for September (it’s not). Now, I’m loathe to start talking about a transitional wardrobe but here we are right in the middle of neither summer but not really in autumn as it’s set to be a balmy 25 degrees. However, there’s good news in the form of a pretty dress trend that genuine suits everyone and is a great transitional piece that will keep you cool but layered up will keep you warm? And the trend in question? The red floral dress.

Global fashion search engine Lyst revealed last month it’s one of the biggest trends this season that continues to grow and grow (searches for it went up by 200% month on month and went up an additional 25% after Scandi girls were spotted wearing floral patterns during Copenhagen Fashion Week). It’s no surprise really considering dark florals are one of the biggest autumn/winter 2019 trends this season too. This style of dress then sits perfectly between the seasons. It’s bold which is ideal for the summer but a bit more serious and autumnal thanks to plenty of these dresses having long hemlines and long sleeves. Below, I’ve picked the best of the luxury and high street dresses that are bright red and floral. The best news, however, is that this is the colour that suits everyone so this will work for every budget and taste.
